Tagger Troubleshooting
Confirm Tagger is getting power and all physical connections to Tagger device are secure (i.e., antenna, communication, power).
Confirm lights are active on the box.
Note: The Fitlet light will be green if connected to power AND powered on. The light will be amber if connected to power but powered off.
If both of those are good, try cycling power to the box ONCE. Wait 5 minutes for connection to establish.
If suspected power issue or a surge has occurred, contact electrician for further troubleshooting of electrical components (i.e., breakers, surge protection, UPS).
Check PLC for power, function, and communication.
Once electrical, physical connection, and PLC issues are ruled out, continue with procedure to swap box.
Swapping an Edge Device
Power on the device. Confirm green lights are active on the box.
Confirm the device shows up on the User Interface.
Navigate to Admin page/Devices Tab
Box may show as unassigned or want to connect to its original assignment.
Confirm antenna is connected.
New boxes have two, redundant antenna connections. If using one antenna, the connection closest to the side is preferred over the one at dead-center.
Ensure box is connected in same places as the replaced box.
If seeing an error, rule out local communication errors (i.e., not an issue with the serial port or ethernet physical connections).
Contact Specific Energy Tech Support to confirm connection.
